Titles will be shown in an abbreviated form in a member's info page if full
titles won't fit. Also note that Corporate titles are in black whilst PvP
titles are highlighted in red. In time it would also help if you recognised
these abbreviated titles so that in corp chat you won't get confused if we
drop them from time to time. See Titles within Phoenix link for a full
description of any particular one and titles that we are looking to
currently hire for.
The two final ranks are in place for everyone else, but are too numerous to
mention names individually at this stage. They differ in one key aspect: A
Staff member Junior has no titles within the corporation, and a staff member
Senior is a rank put in place that a person will be promoted to if they take
on an active role/Title within the corporations structure. If a person does
this then their name and title will be posed here alongside a Staff Member
Senior Rank.
Rank is simply a political position, in so much as how much say you will
have in how the Corporation as a whole is run or what future goals it might
have.
Titles are positions within the corporation that facilitate our goals and
help it to run smoothly. If you feel there is a role you would like to run
for, or indeed help create do not hesitate to get in contact with either
Rogan Samish, or Hanius Valm.
It might also help to note that there is another form of roles within the
game, these are the roles Eve allows a CEO or director of the corporation to
bestow on members to give them access to the corporations physical assets.
Within Phoenix these roles have no bearing on a persons rank or position
within the corporation and are simply viewed as tools to facilitate the
smooth running of our corporation as a whole and are only given out if a
member requires them to do his job efficiently.
Phoenix Co-Op long term business model: Current ambitions and future
aspirations
- Firstly to increase our membership to a size that will allow us to have
players online in multiple time zones and at any one time have a healthy
amount of players "currently online" to launch large fleets. Then to
coordinate these players into basing themselves or at least moving a small
percentage of their assets including jump clones to any one of the systems
listed at the bottom. At this time we will not be ready to coordinate the
operations of any large fleet we simply want to get the members necessary to
do so in the future.
- Next we will close off the corporation to recruitment for a period of
time dependant on how long it takes us to get to step 5 and focus on getting
the experience of all our current members up. This includes getting all
members in a position whereby they all have ships setup for running missions
or mining in empire so they have a means to make good solo isk and can begin
to build up further assets to allow them to engage in more dangerous corp
activities such as running complexes in low sec, or in engaging in PvP
without sustaining losses they can't financially recover from easily. We
will run group corp activities of all natures to facilitate this process by
sharing all rewards equally amongst participants, and this will also get us
practise for when we move onto stage three of the business model.
A good indicator of when we will be ready to do so will be when two goals
have been achieved: Firstly consistent group operations in the form of
mining ops, Lvl 4 mission runs and forays into multiple complex runs are
coordinated on relatively fixed days of the week. And two when every member
of the corp can safely admit that he is in a position where he has assets
set aside for empire isk generation and has a few ships, no matter how
small, setup to engage in operations where losses can be taken without a
major setback. An example of this would be someone who has a nicely fitted
cruiser or battlecruiser for running Lvl 3 missions by himself and maybe a
retriever mining barge and a industrial ship to haul back ore, but who also
has a few frigs or maybe even a cheap cruiser fitted for going testing the
waters of low sec ratting or PvP that he can afford to loose as he can
easily run missions or mine to get another one.
- We will still aim to operate out of empire space and avoid conflict with
other corporations or alliances at this stage as although we will hopefully
have a large relatively experienced corp, this is nothing without the means
of coordinating our defences. Thus stage three will focus on the beginnings
of welding large fleets at Phoenix's disposal. Thus we will begin launching
both organised fleet events and hopefully test our capabilities to defend
and adapt on the fly by staging a few mock distress calls. That is we hope
to coordinate a few gate camps in low sec systems for no foreseeable reason
other than to see if we have the means to do so, also to launch a few large
PvP fleets and see how well we deal with flying through some uncharted
systems and how capable we are at dealing with whatever we encounter. Maybe
running a few complexes and seeing if we can also provide a protective
service for a few large group corp low sec mining events. Finally on any
given day we may stage a mock distress call from within empire space from an
arbitrary system and see how quickly we can launch a respectable counter
attack. No actual PvP will occur on these events it is simply a means to see
how many ships we can launch and what sort of response times we are looking
at and hopefully with a few successful mock drills getting those times down
and those forces up.
- Finally if we are satisfied with the corporations performance as a whole
from its youngest members right up to its most senior coordinators then we
will begin possibly looking at implementing the Phoenix Rebel Fleet scheme
Phoenix Rebel Fleet, once we get the necessary commanders in place and the
strength in numbers and the contingency plans for those who might want to
spent part or all of their time in empire, in place, we may look to either
taking a system for our own and claiming it as a single massive corporation.
Or we may look to join an alliance. However whatever path we choose we will
hope to satisfy the following criteria: The region of space that we will
claim must be easily accessible from empire not 21 jumps into 0.0, or
whatever, so as not to isolate empire corp members from others. Two, we
provide empire space pilots with a protective service so that they don't
feel abandoned in their fight against such enemies as the privateer
alliance. This protective service as well as a defence fleet ready to be
scrambled at the distress signal of a fellow corp mate; will also be in the
form of a few systems that will have scouts and guards posted around key
instillations so that no one is ever camped inside their own station.
Thirdly in a worse case scenario if a corp member feels distressed by a war
at any time and it detracts from his enjoyment of the game, we will by means
of a secondary sister corp in the form of the "Phoenix Co-Operative" that
has offices based in Aclan and Pucherie, provide them with a safe
environment to recover and play the game as they feel suites them whilst
still managing to stay in contact with fellow corp members by means of the
"Phoenix Initiative" chat channel. They may then in their own time rejoin
Phoenix at a later date, with no shame or feeling that they had let the corp
down or chickened out, when they feel comfortable. Remember it will be us
the senior members who will feel like we have let you down if anything, if
we do not provide our younger players with the protection they deserve.
- Finally once we have established a stable platform whereby we have bases
and operations running out of empire systems and 0.0 systems, and we feel
that although we cannot ever guarantee 100% safety (as is the nature of the
game) but feel we have setup a strong defence grid for these operations to
go ahead under we will then begin opening up PHOENIX again to applicants and
building up an even stronger corporation till in time we challenge the might
of even the most formidable alliances. However we will look to extend our
members base slowly and carefully and look to build on the framework that
will hopefully have proved the recipe for success thus far.
- Who knows maybe take on CONCORD for control of the universe and open up
diplomatic relations with the Jovian empire and import their technology to
crush our enemies even further :-)
Operational systems: Aims for the future
In Phoenix we like to keep our members within close proximity of one
another, this benefits not only the corporation as a whole but also
individuals due to the following reasons:
Firstly we can defend our assets better, it is much easier to organise a
spontaneous defence fleet if everyone is within a few jumps of one another.
Secondly the organisation of group operations is easily facilitated if
everyone operates out of similar systems as everyone is familiar with the
territory in regards to what complexes are about, where are the best places
to mine and so on. These group operations as well as being social also
benefit the corp in two ways. They help newer members of the corp gain isk
quickly to build up their strength as Phoenix operates on an equal shares
basis when dividing group loot, minerals, isk. As well as this every group
operation even if no direct PvP is involved is good practice for if we do
need to go to war.
Seeing people in the systems around you that you recognise from the corp
also helps to create a sense of unity and not just the feeling that we are
all in one big chat channel doing our own thing.
Finally we always try and find the best possible systems to operate out
of. We try and find systems that are easy to defend if need be, good
selection of mining belts, good selection of all Lvl agent missions, and
good position to fly to nearby low sec space complexes and ratting. Thus we
are always looking for potential new systems to call home, but will remain
relatively stable for long periods of time only moving as a whole when it
benefits the corp.
In time we will also expand from empire to include a profitable low sec
system to claim as our own. Firstly however we feel it is important to build
up a closely connected membership who will watch each others backs so that
when the time comes and if jealous enemies try to force us back into the
safety of empire our resilience against them will be infallible and our
vengeance swift and brutal.
Operational systems: Current bases of operation
Phoenix is currently operating out of two systems in close proximity to one
another, 6 jumps in total, from within the safety of Empire Space. The
reasons for this is that combined these systems offer a good selection of
agents from the Federation Navy and Garoun Investment Bank as well as safe
mining in multiple belts, as well as a good distance from areas of low sec
that are relatively uncamped. We will use these two systems as a base of
operations for our first long term goal which is to build up the strength of
our corp in numbers and experience without the pressures of war.
